A flash of color, the way it hits, more of a feeling than actual seeing, in that split second just before a fish takes your fly you know what it is.
This is why I hate having and a painting hanging around, they never really are finished – just abandoned. I have sold several prints of the original one, it sat around for 3 years and then, I picked it up the other day and this happened. I really am happier with it now.
Nothing gets my blood flowing like the rise of a trout and that split second before a fish takes your fly.
